To some, Jason Cassidy’s name and face is still unfamiliar. But, with two #1’s and 4 top 10’s in Texas, 2 Billboard charting singles and a #1 CMT Pure 12 pack video that held it’s own for 6 consecutive weeks, the unfamiliar is steadily becoming more familiar to the eyes and ears. Even more so, as his much anticipated single, “Cowboy Girl,” released digitally on December 16th, debuted inside the iTunes top 100 chart. The National radio release is set for February 2015 with hopes of filling that void for those country music fans whom have felt the lack of traditional country music lately.
With his band and live show, which are a force to be reckoned with, Jason is slowly, but surely, making a name and putting his own stamp on country music. Not only in the southern region, but his music is spreading rapidly, across the states and around the world. Jason has a loyal following of dedicated fans, who not only follow him for his music and live show, but for his nonstop humor, family values, and his genuinely down to earth, contagious personality.
Upon meeting Jason, you instantly feel like you are kicking back with an old friend. With insight that often takes a lifetime to develop, Cassidy’s values shine through in his music allowing listeners to find a piece of themselves in every song. Jason is an artist who prides himself on writing from his own life experiences. His honest telling of trials and tribulations and his sincerity in the delivery of his songs, is his path to making lifelong fans. As for the songs that he records, he either has to have a personal connection to them, or have an immediate love for the story including the melody. Such as, his upcoming single “Cowboy Girl,” penned by his buddy Ronny Vines and John Edwards, who also has a cut on the latest Jason Aldean album.
The single is the first release from Cassidy’s 3rd album, 717, that hits stores early Spring of 2015. This greatly anticipated release follows a string of hits from the album’s “Keep It Country” and “My Redemption” albums, which he recorded and released as his debut to the country music scene, in 2011. Cassidy’s stellar debut cemented his position among fans and industry alike, as one to watch in 2012 (as evidenced by CMA Close-Up “Who New to Watch” Feb/March 2012). Following four straight Top 20 radio singles “Sounds Like an Angel To Me,” “Honky Tonk Heaven,” (#1 Texas Regional Radio Report), “What If” (#1 video on the fan-voted CMT Pure 12-Pack Countdown, #51 Billboard), “Ride of Your Life,” (#5 Texas, #81 Billboard and his most recent Texas #1 “Blame it on Waylon” in 2013.
“Now, with a new-found independent business plan and a new team, I’m more ready than ever,” says Cassidy excitingly! “My fire inside is reignited. I’m writing again. I’m so pumped for the future and I’m looking forward to the independent release of my new album.
Charla Corn has been very busy since her debut into the Texas Music scene in 2008. She has become a staple on the touring circuit, delivered a highly acclaimed debut CD, become a cohost on the award winning morning show of Dallas-Ft. Worth’s 95.9 The Ranch, been awarded Best Female Artist by the TRRMA, named FW Weekly Hottest Local Celebrity – Female and Radio Personality Critic’s Choice.
Unlike many of her peers, Charla started her career in Nashville – not with a major label recording contract, but with CMT, hosting CMT Insider, Wide Open Country and Karaoke Dokie and as a CMT correspondent. Time was also spent writing with some of the industry’s most notable talents. That was certainly a country music “dream Job” but just not her country music dream. After reasoning that the CMT job was not her road to her country music dream, she made a career-changing decision. She sold her house and car, packed her bags and moved to her home state of Texas and quickly tapped into the thriving music scene.
Armed with her guitar, an arresting voice and sheer determination, a fan base was built and by 2009 Corn had a full band and a full album under her belt. Her debut release ‘More Than I Should’ paved a road of respect for her with fans, radio stations and industry professionals.
In addition to being noticed for her talent behind the mic on stage, her charm and charisma caught the attention of Fort Worth radio station KFWR and they asked her to
join the cast of on-air talent. Originally starting as a correspondent for special events, then moving to a stint on mid days and then on to afternoon drive slots, she now is cohost of the morning show.
In October 2013, Charla grabbed hold of the interests expressed by her fans by launching her very own YouTube wed series, Corn Fed. Tune in every Wednesday for a new webisode on everything from hair and makeup tutorials, secret family recipes, diet and exercise tips.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Corn continues her colorful career from both sides of the mic. It could not be summed up any better then by Charla herself… “There is simply nothing better for me than being on stage, performing for people and watching them have a great time. I am committed to that feeling, to that sense of purpose. It’s why I’m here.”
